~Five Little Pumpkin Sitting On A Gate~

Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate,

The first one said,"Oh my, it's getting late."

The second one said,"But we don't care."

The third one said,"I see witches in the air."

The fourth one said,"Let's run, and run, and run."

The fifth one said,"Get ready for some fun."

Then whoosh went the wind, and out went the lights,

And five little pumpkins rolled out of sight!

Boo!

Happy Monday everyone!

It's almost HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!

A long weekend...and a little down.

This weekend was a great one for sure. First off I got to spend it with Tyler. I haven't spent a full weekend with him in awhile. It was fabulous. Yesterday we took off here around 3 and headed down to Michigan State Univ. We stopped at a cider mill on the way down. At the mill we did some wine tasting (Ty and I are really getting into wine!), had a donut and cider, looked around, then made our way to MSU. When we got there, we met all my girlfriends at Applebee's. We had a quick drink then went home to get ready for the Halloween party! I was Aphrodite (Greek goddess of Love) and Tyler was a fat, Scottish man. (I'll post pics of that later!!!) We both had a blast! Today Tyler brought me to his job site so I could see his progress. It amazes me how he knows so much about construction at such a young age(24). I am very proud of him and all that he is accomplishing. :)

On the flip side, I've been a little down lately about school. In the beginning of this semester my exam scores were strong and I felt really good with how classes were going. This past week I had 4 exams and didn't do as well as I would have hoped. I've been studying and working really hard and it is not paying off. I don't know what my deal is. I guess I'll just have to do more or just keep trying my hardest. I just hate having it get me down like this. I have one more semester left...I CAN DO IT!

Well tomorrow starts a new week. A week of Halloween fun with the boys. I'm taking them trick-or-treating, so that should cute! I hope everyone has a good start to the work week and for those who are soon traveling to bring home their babies...I wish you the best! :) Love to all!

I must confess something...

I LISTENED TO CHRISTMAS MUSIC TODAY!!

As I was walking to class this morning, I realized that its only 2 months till Christmas. Along with it being FREEZING outside, I thought more about the holiday season and got excited. I grabbed my i-pod and switched it Christmas tunes....call me crazy but I loved it! It is never to early to get excited about the holidays...is it!?!?

Back to reality

Chicago was fabulous! Emily and I had a blast. We took the train from South Bend, IN to Downtown Chicago. The train trip took about 2 1/2 hours which wasn't too bad. I highly recommend taking the train over driving anyday! We shopped all day Saturday. A few things that I figured out what I really wanted for Christmas....a Coach purse and a couple of cute outfits from Express. I went into Abercrombie for the first time in about 4 years....Stef, I totally know how you feel about that store now, IT'S AWFUL! haha ;)
We were both tired by 5pm so we laid around for a bit. We had reservations at a very upscale italian restaurant Saturday night. The dinner was aaaaamazing. We started with a bottle of wine, then we had an appitizer, a hugh pasta dish, and finished with sorbet for dessert. Lets just say I couldn't really move after dinner...but it was so worth every penny! We got back late last night and I started my crazy exam week this morning. One down, 3 to go! I should be studying right now, but I'm great at procrastinating. :) Well I hope everyone had a good weekend and a good start to our last full week of October...can you believe it?

~My Calling~

Lately I've been praying for some sort of answer to my questions on orphans. Ever since that church service 2 weeks ago, I'm longing to help one or many. My church sponsors a orphanage in the Dominican Republic and a group of church members go down once each December and once each summer. Today God showed me what I need to do. I know it is my calling to go down there and help the kids in D.R. I want to go so bad...my heart aches to go. However, the cost is very high and I could never afford it. The trip is December 15-22 and I can't stop thinking about how amazing it would be and how much of an impact I could be for the children. Our church also does a "sponsor a suitcase" drive for students and members who can't afford to go but really want to and people can sponsor you. I would love to get involved with that, however in some weird way I feel bad about it. I don't know why, I just wish I could afford it...but I can't. I guess it will be a journey to see what does happen but it would be an amazing experience. Some way I will get there....I can feel it. God is calling me to do work with children... I know he is. I'm very involved in child care at my church and also living with a family I get lots of involvement with kids. I love them and knowing that there are orphans who need love in this world just breaks my heart. There is a plan for everyone and a journey that we all must discover. Who knows if I will ever get to go to D.R. but I truly think it is my calling. If money wasn't the issue I'd be down there in a second. It is all in God's hands now....I just hope it all works out....I pray it does.

Time to get fit!

Well it has taken me a long time to finally find the energy but I ready to do it! I've been the same weight or around the same weight for about a year now. I don't hate my body, I just need to tone up. Lately I've found my inner thighs, back (bra area), and tummy section to be getting a little more on the flabby side. Therefore I am going to do something about it! My goal is to loose 10 by Christmas. It's going to be hard because I am the number one laziest person ever but I'm going to pray hard to get some energy! My mom keeps telling me that she can do more then me and she's 25 years older! That has got to stop now!! So today I've started. I started with a 2.25 mile walk/jog on the treadmill and I'm going to try to increase that each day. Just keep me going friends...yell at me to MOVE! :)
Tomorrow is Kyle's 4th birthday. He's getting really excited! My parents are also coming up for the day for the party and the football game! I'll be posting pics of that for sure. He gets a Lightning McQueen party...yeah be jealous! ;)
Happy Friday to everyone!

This is all new to me!

I'm Amy. I'm your typical girly girl who loves meeting new people. I'm in my final year of college and hope to continue my college career with Cosmetology school. Oh I love doing hair and makeup! I live with a family while I'm here at college and I nanny for their two kids, Kyle (4), and Ryan (1). I LOVE my job and I love the craziness of the family! :) I'm sure I'll have lots of fun stories to share about those boys!

This is me!

Well I finally decided that I need to start up a journal again. I had a journal in High School but that ended because of my life getting so busy. I'm now into my senior year at college and I'm trying to start taking steps to bigger changes in my life. I really hope I can use this blog to help me get through my last year at college and have it be here for a place to vent and regroup. I've been keeping up with some friends blogs for awhile now and blogging just seems to be a fun little world. I know I don't have much in common with the blogs I've been reading because they are all adoption families. However, reading these blogs has got me very interested. When I attended church last weekend, we had a group of kids from around the world come in and perform for the congregation. They were called "Children of Hope." From the moment I walked into church till the moment I left, I felt something I've never felt before. The children performing on stage were not only amazing singers and performers but over half of them were orphans. When they sang, tears filled my eyes and I knew I had to do something. God was calling me to do something. Whether it be just sponsering a child or something much more. Now I have a boyfriend whom I've been with on and off for about 4 years now. This past spring we have decided to begin a relationship again...a relationship that will last forever. After spending a whole year apart, my heart ached for him. The time we had apart made both of our lives more clear. We both hurt eachother in the past but it only made this whole thing seem so real and perfect. We now know that we are ment for eachother and we will do anything to make it last. I've talked to him many times this church service that touched my heart and he said that he would love to look into it little later in life. I just know that I want to and need to help a child, an orphan, sometime in my life. God is calling me to do it and I want to do it with all of my heart!

I hope this blog helps me keep my thoughts on track and lets me begin to meet new people. I was hesitant to start this blog, knowing that I'm a busy girl, however, I felt a calling that I needed to do it. It will be very beneficial to me in the long run to be here to let my heart speak without any "talking back". :) So here starts my journey in blogger land...
